Dr. Patel is a double board-certified specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is the owner and operator of Modern UroGynecology, a urogynecologic surgical specialty practice in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX. The practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of female urinary incontinence, vaginal mesh complications, pelvic floor disorders, overactive bladder, chronic pelvic pain, and heavy menstrual bleeding. Dr. Patel has over fourteen years of experience in advanced gynecologic surgery and has performed over 250 vaginal mesh revision/reconstructive procedures in the last three years alone. In addition to his practice, Dr. Patel has a strong academic background. He previously served as the Associate Program Director for the Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program at the Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX. He has also given presentations at regional and national levels and served as a national faculty member for the Annual Medical Student Workshop for the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Patel is currently the Vice Chair of District XI - Section 2 (North Texas) for ACOG. Before his civilian career, Dr. Patel served in the U.S. Air Force as the Medical Director/Element Chief for the Luke Women's Clinic at Luke AFB, AZ. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Air Force and received numerous clinical, research, and teaching awards. Dr. Patel holds a medical doctorate from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.
